I recently moved into new home in west cary. I am looking for a security system with mobile app and NO LANDLINE. Willing to pay not more then $30 per month.
Met with CPI and they are like $50 per month
Any recommendations ?

I'm not sure you will find something with the features you mentioned for less than $30/month unless you do something that is not actively monitored.

I bit the bullet and went with CPI, it dropped our Home Owners insurance monthly premium so that offset the costs slightly.

I have no experience with it, but have heard good things about Simpli Safe. Here is a link to Clark Howard's comments on it

Frequently recommended on this forum is Alarm Man - do a search.

I can't vouch for them, but many others here have.

I did some research recently and found MANY complaints about the quality of the SimpliSafe equipment. Unfortunately, I haven't found alternatives to suggest, but the DIYSecurity Forum has been helpful (as well as overwhelming).

Having some experience with our warehouse and office being broken into. We had a wired system and cell backup through Protection One. Alarm worked fine.

Here are some additional tips you can use to help.

Change your locks to Medeco. These are special keys that can not be duplicated with standard tools.

Use impact resistant window film on your main windows or doors with glass. This essential makes them bulletproof, can bounce a bowling ball off the window and it will not break.

Install an external mounted siren and light if permitted. We could only use a external bell because of city codes.

We got Simpli Safe in February, and have had only one issue with their newly released smoke detector sensor but they voluntarily recalled it on their own. They offer 3 tiers of service with the most expensive, at around $30/month, provides app controls. In the beginning, we had a couple times where we would forget to disarm it and they called us promptly. Plus, they are month to month so you can cancel anytime.

To OP: We moved in the past 2 weeks and went with ADT after dumping 'Powerhome Technologies' who were working with the builder for pre installed home security systems. In my research, the $30 range as advertised by most is only if you have a land line. We have friends paying $35 for CPI with another $ 20 for land phone. If you upgrade to wireless equipment and wireless monitoring, the standard pricing is in the $45-$50 range. Also remember, they all advertise a bunch of free equipments like key fobs etc which IMO are useless and may have to pay something if you trade it in for lets say an extra smoke alarm.
Lastly, monitoring services is where they make the money, so depending on the plan you select, you will see some variation.
