I was picking up some Chinese food at China Cary the other night. There was a sign on the door that went something like this: "The Fresh Market is considering renting space in this shopping center. They want to know that they will have a customer base. Please email realestate@thefreshmarket.com to let them know."
This will be a great addition to this side of Cary...not to mention, Hemlock Plaza could use some work!
I'd be interested and live in the area, but I don't know what a Fresh Market is. Can anyone give me a quick idea?
There is one on SW Cary Parkway and one in Cameron Village. The Fresh Market
It's a bit of a boutique grocery store, NC-Owned. Atmospheric.
Quality meats and produce, and a bit pricey.
Varieties of food that you don't see everywhere.
I stop in the one in Cary routinely and use it like a convenience store. Bananas are $.10/lb more, but it is easy in and out, and I can get a coffee slurp sample, maybe a taste of wine, and they have the BEST flat choc chip cookies.
It's a smaller grocery store that focuses on fresh meats, fruits/veggies and seafood. They also have a lot of prepared food that is great if you're short on time and can't cook. Awesome concept!
I think next April 1st I will put a similar sign on a vacant anchor store in North Raleigh that says "Wegman's is considering renting this space ... Please email them..."

I find it funny how long they were located in Saltbox Village on Kildaire, a much nicer and busier shopping center, and now they want to basically move back.

Saltbox was busy.
But they wanted a larger space, and they needed better parking for customers.
I did like going to Saltbox when Bear Rocks was on one corner and Fresh Market on the other.
