Does anyone know where I can buy figure skates in or around Raleigh? I have recently gotten back into skating and it looks like I no longer have my 15 year old pair. I've found a couple places mentioned as dealers on skate brands' sites, but they no longer seem to exist when I Google them.

I tried Five Hole Sports but they only had hockey skates.

We always bought my daughter's figure skates at the Pro-Shop at The Factory in Wake Forest.

The Factory is good - the pro shop at the Orange County Sportsplex in Hillsborough is run by a couple who are also figure skating judges - you can't go wrong there, definitely worth the trip.

Five Hole Sports is taking over the pro shop at the Factory and Cary Ice House.

I have a pair of barely used Klingbeil boots I'd like to get rid of if you happen to need a size 8AA! Our d's skating days ended before we arrived here though, so I have no local recommendations.

When we were buying skates, we'd go try them on in the pro shop and buy them already broken in on Ebay and then pay to have them baked and sharpened in the pro shop.

Craigslist? And Dick's sporting goods used to carry them but maybe that was in NY.

Cary and Wake Forest both have pro shops inside; and like Noras mom said many local figure skaters use the couple who run the pro shop in Hillsboro. If you are near Cary it is worth it to check with Play it again sports. They sell used sports equipment. I got my daughter a pair of SP Teri's there for a rediculously cheap price.
