Cabela's is big.. I mean BIG. I've been to two in Nebraska. It was like a "theme park" and if the one coming to Garner is anything like it, it will dwarf Gander Mountain. http://www.cabelas.com/assets/cms/im...otogallery.swf

I don't live there anymore. How developed is that interchange now?

That article a little more in depth, Im interested in driving 2 hours to go see what Cabelas is all about.
I would love more of these big box sporting stores in hopes it will drive down the price of kayaks and camping tents and such. Competition is gooood.

I agree Bass will present problems for the smaller Gander Mtn. Would have loved to see what Cabela's is all about I've never been in one, but if all goes as planned, hoping to get back to warmer temps in Fl by the time Cabela's opens in 2015 :-(

The store is going to be 100,000 sq ft. With a simulated mountain in the center of the store & an aquarium, similar to Bass Pro in South Florida.

For comparison, the Bass Pro in Cary will be 105,000 sf, so pretty much the same size.

Wow, this is surprising. There are no Cabelas in the SE portion of the US. Unless you count Louisiana as SE. Cabelas, depending on the location, can be huge. The one I went to in Nebraska was as big as a shopping mall.

You're exaggerating, right?

Clearly. According their website, they have three stores in Nebraska, with sizes of 35,000 sq. ft. (Kearny), 85,000 sq. ft. (Sidney), and 128,000 sq. ft. (La Vista). By comparison, Crabtree Valley Mall is 1,300,000 sq. ft.
