I agree with you 100%, though we are empty nester's have found in general people here are not friendly here, beyond just "hello & goodbye" in passing, and before I get bashed , YES we reached out to them, invited them over, but few reciprocate, and yes we are nice friendly people, we never had problems in our 36 years together ! I think it's this greater Raleigh area?
I think it's the "Wake/Johnston county line" area. Just a guess, but the more rural areas are a little harder to get involved in socially, IMO. Fewer transplants and people are already settled in with the friends they've had for years.
We moved here 7 rears ago from Ft Lauderdale, after almost 30 yrs there, and I don't like the cold and high heating costs to run the heat vs. AC, I want my all year round flip flops back, Waaaaaaah.......
I'll take my chances. The heat just plain wore me down.
Well, my plan to relocate is moving right along. From the look of things, I will be making my first trip in January. What are some things you guys think I should check out while in the area? Food, scenery, parks, etc. Also, which neighborhoods should I look into? Thanks again, all!
