Can anyone tell me what shops/services are in the Marketplace?

Searched online but can't seem to find much. See that there is a library and music school, and that the restaurant that was there closed.

Anything more than that?

There is some type of arts and craft place also. I thought there was a dry cleaner but not totally sure.

It's too bad that section wasn't successful.

The retail section of carpenter village never developed. That big open field right off Carpenter Morrisville Road has looked the same for the last fifteen years.

So what exactly is there? Any restaurant or coffee shop at all? What a shame.

Where are the nearest shops - grocery, pharmacy - to CV?

You have a Food Lion just up the street, and a Harris Teeter a couple of miles away either direction.

CV and some other communities are local experiments in "Neo-Traditional" development. Businesses tend to not be embraced adequately to survive.

There's a hair salon apart from a music school.

There are grocery stores (Food Lion, Walmart), pharmacies (Walgreens, CVS, Morrisville Compounding (?)), dry cleaner, restaurants, etc. by the intersection of Morrisville Carpenter and Davis Drive.

Cafe Capistrano closed several years ago, which is a shame because it was good california/mexican food at a reasonable cost. The owner battled with the town of cary who would not allow any permanent signage advertising the place (which is not readily visible from the main through road). We held my daughter's last birthday at the Polka Dot Pallette (which is now closed) and she had a blast. Was the easiest bday party we ever had at one of those children's bday party places. That was last winter, so that business has closed since then.

Not a lot up in the marketplace. The music school and the daycare are the main stays.

You've got the library right next the neighborhood, across from the elementary school. Apparently some new townhouse or condo stuff supposed to go in on one of the other corners, including some retail. That might do ok, as it will be easily accessible from Highway 55, which gets a lot of traffic.

At the High House/Davis intersection at the other side of the neighborhood, you have Food Lion, Wal-Mart (grocery store, not full blown), Irish Pub, Dentists, various food options (taco bell, salsa fresh, smithfields bbq, andy's, a wings place, quiznos, starbucks, ice cream, indian, italian, etc). Definitely possible to walk, especially if you live on that side, although not very pedestrian friendly (which would not be that hard, a shame it hasn't happened).

The two Harris Teeter-anchored shopping centers have a lot of food options, but would definitely be a drive, not a walk.

Hmmm...Gotta tell my husband to update this as I know some of those hair stylists are gone and, obviously, Cafe Capistrano is closed, but this is something. There is also a woman's bible study place and a couple other offices. The offices for the cemetery are here and there is also a martial arts place.
