Thanks. We are contemplating on a home in Kitts creek and I came to know about the proposed closure of church street with 54. I work in N.Raleigh. So trying to see if this would be a bottleneck commute wise.

Actually, I believe the gantry is only on the southbound 147 *off ramp* for Hopson/Davis (and the onramp there for northbound). So you pay for your entire trip on 147 either when you exit at Hopson/Davis ($0.30) or when you hit 540 ($0.65 if heading north/east or $0.82 if heading south/west).

The toll difference between the two directions when you hit 540 is that north/east 540 includes a bit for the short piece to where tolling ends at 54, while the south/west 540 toll includes the bit to carry you to 55.

So for any given trip, you would only pay the following:

- One from 1, 2, 3, and 4
- 5
- One from 6, 7, and 8
- 9

Well, you will no longer be able to take a left onto Church and then a right onto Chapel Hill Rd/54 to access 540.

You will have to do one of the following:

Go right on Church, then left on McCrimmon, left on Chapel Hill (Free but probably the worst traffic-wise)

Left on Church to Keystone Park, then left on Park Knoll, Left on Davis to 540 and pay the toll or straight through to Hopson, take a right, then follow that as it changes to Page and get 40 to 540

or Go out the back of Kitts Creek, take a right on Davis to 540 Toll.
