Thinking about buying into the Hasentree Community in Wake Forest. We are semi-retired so commute to work is not issue and neither are schools but would like to hear from people who live there or the surrounding area. Also those who has built with Toll Brother.

I would try to buy one of the custom resales out there(non toll). Great facilities and anything Toll controls will stay open and in good shape

In my opinion, Hasentree is a great subdivision. That being said, I would opt for purchasing a resale house. I have dealt with Toll brothers in this subdivision many times and the problems encountered by my clients (I'm a contractor), have been substantial. I won't go into detail here but anyone can pm me if they would like additional information.

The thing about the custom resales in Hasentree is that many date from the original luxury custom home model.
Yes, many sellers are taking a hit on their original purchase, or short, or even some foreclosures, but those haircuts don't compete with Toll pricing at the lower end at all.

So, if one wants to live in Hasentree @ $500,000, Toll is the choice.

Before buying in the Hasentree area, be sure to research the water pollution issues in surrounding/nearby neighborhoods. If memory serves correctly, Hasentree may have also been part of this story. Old business dumped stuff that caused water table pollution. Do your homework!
