Craigslist under Free Stuff is also another way to have the stuff picked up and gone. Again, maybe not solely the needy will pick up but it will disappear.
Caveat about Craigslist is that I'm hearing more and more where people use C'list to "case the joint" and perhaps go back and rob later, especially if you, for example, leave your stuff on the curb when you presumably are not home...that tells them there's a house with nobody home that day.
I think yoj712 is now looking for donations of furniture after having to previously dispose of items following eviction. Congratulations on moving into your new place and good luck finding furniture! Keep trying the two places mentioned.
Oops....didn't look at page 2 and see that Jenny_B already pointed this out.

Reason: duplicate post
I am new to the computer world, and new to the area where I live. I am a full time student with a 13 yr old and been on a constant job search for about 9 months now. We have recently been blessed to move into a new house, However, we have little in terms of furniture. If you still have these items I would be more than happy to take them off your hands. If they have been claimed already then we completely understand. Just keep us in your prayers. That's the best gift anyone could ever give me. Keep us in mind if you know anyone else who has furniture to get rid of. I would even babysit or do some yard work/house cleaning in exchange. It is a wonderful thing that you are doing/have done here. My prayer for you is that you and yours are continually blessed, through all of your days and in all that you do. Thank you for your time. Have a most wonderful, blessed week!!!
The original post was from 2007. I think it's gone.
You should sign up to FreeCycle. Google it and good luck.

Not sure this is the right place for this post but......
Hi, we have finally moved into our house and don't have room for all of the furniture we have.
If anyone knows a family in need or that has fallen under hardship.......
We want to give or donate a brown leather couch (decent condition), matching chair (seat is torn so it has a large non matching seat cover on it), nice coffee table, single bed with matresses (IKEA brand), and 2 small red end tables. These are all items that were in our bonus room, which we don't have now.
The items will have to be picked up in Knightdale, we cannot transport them.
Although the original post was 8 years ago, if anyone has any furniture to donate, The Green Chair project is a great place to donate.
And, on Facebook, there is a group called Carolina Cares that helps needy people, for those that have items to donate AND for those that need items donated.
