Is there much public duck & turkey hunting in the R-D-CH-C area ? Looking to relocate from the PA icebox and wondering about things I like to do. Golf looks easy to find in the area but not sure about hunting. Thanks
It's been a few years since I looked into it, but I think they do a some kind of a lottery/permit hunt on state land for turkey. The population of turkey is growing, but I doubt it's as good as you have in PA. I used to hunt in upstate NY (Otsego county), and it's nothing like it was up there. As far as ducks go I've heard it's pretty good here, but I don't duck hunt so I have nothing to compare it to. There is a place in Harnett county just south of Fuquay varina called Drakes Landing.
Thanks for the info. Turkeys are like robins in most of PA but the winters don't make it worth staying here for them !
