Does anyone know of any local stores that carry lights made in the USA, or at least not made in China. I'm not finding any. Thanks.

I don't think you can. Even online stores that advertise 'american made' artificial trees and garland do not have any light sets that are advertised that way.

I guess it's nice to buy american when possible....but.....

No more than 10 years ago ... I am remembering ... my aunt worked in a Christmas light factory here in NC. She doesn't work there anymore. Must be closed now!

GE used to be great.

Now Chinese junk too.

Unsafe trash with many counterfeit UL seals to boot.

Not a great step up.

Might check some of the more expensive LED sets.

I understand your frustration! But for making a pair of Nike shoes, chinese workers only earn 2 dollars. For a set of christmas light, I guess they might get 2 cents! If GE or other american companies can give up a little bit of their profit, the qaulity might improve!

Its interesting how a company can get all of their parts from China, but assemble it in the USA and it is legally ok to say Made in the USA. Its almost impossible to get most things 100% USA made.

That's not surprising at all.

Most communities in the USA do not want manufacturing in their "backyard"--no smokestacks or similar factories. So that kind of dirty manufacturing goes overseas.

You can also have products made in American Somoa which has a poor economy and matching wages much like Asia - and because it's a US territory you can say it's made in USA.
