I am a divorcee with a elementary aged daughter who works Downtown Raleigh. I am currently living in South Durham but I am no longer want to make that commute each day. So after years of living in Durham, I have decided to move to Raleigh and buy a home. My budget is between 150k-185k. I also want my commute to be less than 30 minutes (which includes dropping my daughter off to school). So what are some safe, affordable areas to buy with good schools. And would make my daily commute fairly short. Thanks for any suggestions.

Are you only looking for single-family homes or are you open to townhomes?

Being open to a townhome will greatly open up your options, given your price range.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of townhomes. I was looking at SFH because I do want some yard for my dog and a small garden.
