Hi,

I'm a younger resident of the triangle looking to start looking for a house in Durham area. I live south Durham and my wife and I both work in Durham/Chapel Hill (West triangle).

Can anyone give advice on how to start looking for a house? I'll google up the general stuff but would appreciate comments like mortgage servicers, real estate agents .. good areas.. etc etc.

Thanks

Do you have a bank or credit union? Go there and tell them you are thinking of buying a home. They can advise you re: financials.

Do you have a realtor? Get one. A buyer's agent will not cost you a dime and they are invaluable in the home-buying process, especially if you are buying a first home.

Those are the initial steps.

People can advise you on good areas, but until you have a price range that you know you will be working with, it's more challenging to give recommendations.

All realtor recs here at C-D are done via PM only. No recs allowed on the forum.

Good luck!
