Current commute time on a good day is 1 hr where we live in MD to current job. My husband was thinking of getting a job at Fort Bragg but we've sort of set our sights on Clayton. Totally unrealistic?
I'd love to hear from those that may do it or have done it. The areas closer to Fort Bragg weren't really what we were looking for and it was hard to find decent recommendations from people on other areas closer. Any advice is appreciated!

I think it's doable, but long. Have you looked in Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs, too? They would put you a little closer to Bragg, but still close to Raleigh. Fuquay in particular is closer, but still very much part of the Triangle region. It would be about 20 minutes closer and I don't really see a whole lot of difference between Fuquay and Clayton myself, but I'm not over that way much. Others might be able to better advise on the differences, but Fuquay is about 45 to 50 minutes to Bragg and Clayton is a little bit over an hour. Fuquay is also closer to the rest of the Triangle. Clayton is sort of out there.

Could you recommend a particular subdivision? And is that Wake Co? Thanks for your input!

Fuquay and Holly Springs are Wake County. They are much closer the fort Bragg than Clayton (in Johnston County is).

A relative lives in the Crooked Creek neighborhood in Fuquay-Varina which is great if you like to play golf.

You can expect 1hr travel from Clayton to Ft. Bragg for sure. Depending where on Ft. Bragg it will most likely be longer as well.

If you decide upon Clayton, choose a neighborhood off of Exit 319 instead of 312.
