I think it looks fascinating.. But I don't suppose insurance would touch it. It sounds pretty expensive. Maybe someday... I would be really interested.

My dad went there for a while after his heart attack. Insurance will cover it after a heart attack. It is a nice facility and he liked it a lot.

I volunteered at the Duke Integrative Medicine Fair last year and was very impressed with what I saw. Basically, all Duke Med students have to attend the Fair and become somewhat familiar with complimentary and alternative medicine techniques. I doubt many will use them, but as a growing number of Americans are using complementary medicine now, it's important for new physicians to be aware of the techniques and alternative philosophies in order to best serve their patients, and to be aware of what these patients may have already done.
The facility is gorgeous, and has one of the most beautiful meditation areas I've ever seen. It's certainly worth checking out, if your insurance allows. I am a big believer in complementary medicine- I want to know all my options and freely mix conventional and alternative medicine myself.

It's an innovative center that has a fairly long history at Duke. Many forms of insurance are accepted---it can depend on your treatment and your plan.
