I live in Brier Creek and love it here - but it's not a restaurant hot spot.

I'd say downtown Raleigh, Glenwood South, Downtown Durham.

If you are into ethnic eats, Morrisville is GREAT. (With a few side trips to Cary and Durham)

As others have mentioned, Downtown Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill All have some really nice spots. They also have some nice food spots outside of the downtown area. As far as Cary goes(some folks on here have beef with cary but I say it is a real nice middle ground I can get to downtown Raleigh or Durham relatively quickly and don't have to get on the highway to do so.) It does have a lot of chain shopping centers, and it's downtown is small but there are spots worth checking out, you can check out chatham square which has Indian, Pakistani, Korean, Japanese, Mexican, Nepali, Jamaican, and a African Market. I mght as well add in Downtown Apex(cary and apex are so close you might as well say if cary is the right cheek apex is the left same thing could be said of morrisville).
