My husband and I are flamenco musicians - guitarist and vocalist - and will be doing a show for my elderly mom's club on May 27 at about 1:00 in the Raleigh area. Any ideas where I might find a flamenco dancer to dance just one number?

Call the local dancing schools. Contact the Brazilian restaurants, as they often have that kind of entertainment. (Ask for the manager - the hostesses won't be able to help.)

Don't get your hopes up, especially at such short notice. I'd start with dance schools.

as an alternative, maybe you could find a DVD and turn off the audio on the TV. Try the library?

good luck - and I'm sure you're mom and friends will enjoy it either way.

Another avenue for the OP to pursue may be to contact the appropriate college departments and see if any faculty may know of anybody.

UNC's Department of Romance Languages & Literature

NC State's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures

Duke's Department of Romance Studies
