Do any of you have a landscaping service maintain your yard? I had been using a lawn-cutting service and a separate lawn-treatment/shrub-treatment service this past year and have been disappointed in both the results and the high costs.

Do any of you have a single service for lawn cutting (during lawn-cutting-season), replacing annuals/mulch, treating lawns/shrubs/trees, pruning, etc.?

Approximately how much do you spend a year (or per month) on such services?

Do you usually pay a certain fee and then separately for materials/chemicals/plants?

I'm in Cary and we used Huntscapes up until recently. They cost about $200/month for our 0.27 acre lot. They came to the yard weekly and did whatever needed to be done (mowing, blowing, overseeding, fertilizing, weed killing, trimming bushes, etc). They also took care of our irrigation system (which they installed). The monthly fee included everything but mulch and plants. The service was okay but I just felt like paying that much year round justified a very high level of service and the service wasn't spectacular so I hired someone to mow, got a contract for fertilization and weed prevention and hired someone to take care of the sprinkler system.

We use Triangle Precision Lawn Care, and they are amazing. Jim is the owner and he takes personal care and that is a big sell for us. We have a .43 acre and they come twice a month and mows and general yard work for $35 each visit. Also, they do our extra lawn care and fertilizing when it is time, and have a very reasonable charge. I have used other companies in the past, but this company is the best, probably because Jim is so involved with everything and doesnt let the service or quality drop. We are in Morrisville, by the way.D.
