Recommendation for Cheap Home Security Company/Serive
Looking to get Security system installed in our home. Its prewired for home security system. Who's out their providing these services for reasonable installation price and monthly service fee?
Also who allows you to use VOip since we do not have a traditional POTS line?
Thanks in advanced!

It will depend on the type of VOIP. I have heard a lot of good things about CPI. I don't know how cheap it is, though. Why on earth would you want to go cheap with something as important as security?

We use CPI and I love the system. We pay 34.95 a month for a 5 year contract and the system was free.

I have lingo. I don't necessarily mean something cheap like $2 but just don't want to use someone charging $50 and asking for 4 year contract
All these companies are doing the same thing CPI, ADT..etc etc. someone has to be offering a better DEAL with competition in the market

We have our phone through Time Warner so we had to do a battery backup. I don't think they make you do it, but we wanted the extra protection in case the power went out. We pay $41/month with battery backup (it was closer to $32 without) and our contract is 3 years. We almost went with CPI (it's a better product), but they were more expensive and our installation was free with ADT v. about $400 with CPI.

We have CPI and VOIP. No problems, very good customer service. I believe they are now offering free installation althought I could be wrong, our house already had the system installed.

We went with Secur-Tek http://www.securtek.com/
We have VOIP (Vonage), and hated the idea of locking ourselves into a multi-year contract. Their standard contract is 1 year, but we actually got them to let us just go month to month with NO contract (without an increase in rates). That's what really sold us on it. And they also had some of the best rates around. We've been happy with them so far.

Cpi
I went with CPI as well...no problems...non-pushy salesman, smooth installation, and courteous techs...I would say call them and have them provide an estimate. Good Luck
