Hey all -
I may be looking for something that doesn't exist.
I'd love for my son to take martial arts, but he needs to have a smaller class size and a non-competitive environment.
Does anyone have any ideas? Preferably something w/o a big up-front financial commitment since we don't know if it will work.
He does not have autism. The only reason I mention it is that autism-specific programs aren't usually a good fit for some reason, although on paper they should be. He is pretty high functioning physically, easily over stimulated, highly distractable, not great at processing loads of language, and learns best by watching others and getting positive feedback.
Ideally we'd start a class at the beginning vs. joining an ongoing class.
Not sure if such a thing exists but I thought I'd ask!
Oh, and Cary/Apex/Morrisville preferred as we live in Pittsboro.

How old is he? You may want to drop into White Tiger in Cary. They had excellent teachers for beginning children and may be what you are looking for. They may also be able to guide you accordingly if they can't accommodate you and may allow you a trial period before committing to an extended timeframe.
If your willing to Travel Lee Brothers TKD in North Raleigh is amazing!
Even though my username is has kick in it I don't work for them in any way, just a coincidence.
