I can tell you this, sometimes after a subdivision is finished its a possibility that the iron rods could be missing as we have found that to be many times. So if you want to install a fence, or a hedge which could be close to encroaching on someone else's property, its just a very good idea to have a land survey done so YOU know where your property corners are. And make sure to leave those corners flagged, just push them as far down into the ground as possible. Some neighbors, mostly older people, will even move property corners!
