Heard on Clark Howard radio show this morning while on my travels...they are working with Salvation Army (have done so for many years) to collect for kids at Christmas - whether it be warm coats and shoes for the winter (some children don't even have that), or toys...Clark said that donations of any amount through his website will go to kids in the community in your zip code. That's kind of nice, I think, that you can donate and still know that it will be your own area kids that will benefit from it.
I've seen them at the WalMart in Clayton, as well as the Lowe's Foods.
