I was thinking of going to this meeting last night to see what it was all about, but had other plans. It seems like a real "hot button" issue, yet I can't find any news coverage about the meeting yesterday. Nothing was on the news last night and I can't find anything in the paper today. This seems very odd to me.
Can anybody point me towards news coverage of the meeting? I think I will attend the Jan 28th meeting. I don't really have a position on this issue, but I am interested to see how it is being handled.
I'm surprised by the lack of news coverage on this issue. I have seen several "letters-to-the editor" in the carynews but surprised that I haven't seen any op-ed pieces published on this issue.
My primary concern is that very little is being done to mitigate the already heavy congestion along NC-54 and that the Park West development will only make the situation worse.
I think it will be a mess on NC-54 since it's a one lane road. I've been at the light on Morrisville Parkway and seen the traffic back up to Cary Parkway around 4pm. And that is where Park West Village would be.

Agreed. The Traffic Impact Analysis shows the intersection of NC54 & Cary Pkwy improving (unless you are one of the unlucky traveling westbound NC54 during morning rush, your wait will increase from a minute and a half to just over 4 minutes) after buildout of Park West and with developer funded improvements. But without an APFO in Morrisville, two lane NC54 west of Weston Pkwy and East of Cary Pkwy will remain as is. The intersection of Cary Pkwy & Highhouse will get worse. Morrisville Pkwy will be a whole nother issue. It's not reasonable to expect 25-35% of Park West traffic to go past year round Morrisville Elementary School without problems.

Agreed! It's not going to just affect Chapel Hill Rd and Cary Parkway.
should we be surprised? go read the Northern Virginia forums and how bad traffic is. This area so reminds me of up there about 25 years ago. Building up without upgrading roads and schools first.

It's no surprise, but it's something we can try to do something about.
