Posts on DSL Reports have indicated that Ultimate 50 will only go to 100Mbps initially until everything is ready to roll for 300Mbps but hopefully the rest of us get bumped in the near future.
This is what Maxx delivered once the dust settled in other markets and what modems are needed for each speed. Getting conflicting reports on upload speeds so left them out:
Standard goes from 15Mbps down to 50Mbps down (no DOCSIS2 modems provisioned at this speed. SB6121 or 4x4 modem needed)
Turbo goes from 20Mbps down to 100Mbps down (no DOCSIS2 modems provisioned at this speed. SB6141 or equivalent 8x4 modem needed)
Extreme 30 goes from 30Mbps down to 200Mbps down (SB6183 needed for 16x4)
Ultimate 50 goes from 50Mbps down to 300Mbps down (SB6183 needed for 16x4)
So get ready folks. It's time to dump those $10 DOCSIS2 modems.
They're not talking about upload speed. That's what we need more of.
The first high speed Internet provider at my house gets my business, even if it's TimeWarner. AT&T is burying fiber next week.
TWC's announcement is preemptive. They know they're getting ready to have their hats handed to them for providing such slow service for such high prices.
We were paying $55 too until promotion expired recently and just got a letter increasing the price to $70. Will have to call them tomorrow. Why can't they just give people decent prices and stop playing these games? Ugh...

Pretty much this. They've dragged their butts forever and now that there's competition on the horizon, magically everyone gets an upgrade. It kind of shows you that the potential was always there, they just had no reason/care to do it.
Here it comes...TWC announcing the start of the process in the Triangle with notices going out to customers this month. As in other areas, it will start with consolidating video services into digital, making way for the Internet speed boosts. Upgrades should be done by the end of the year, so it may be awhile yet for some.
According to WRAL, Maxx will come first to Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, with other towns following later.

According to the first article, communicating the upgrades to customers will start this month, and the rollout should be complete in the triangle by end of year.
And, Raleigh is in the first group, so it should be soon for you.
