Our exterminator (Dodson Bros.) put bait stations in the kitchen.

Got them. Sprays didn't help.

Oy, mine came for the early-bird special and infested my kitchen in June. Ant hotels did the trick!

I have had good results with a borax paste (borax, sugar and water). Takes care of roaches too!

We had them so bad last summer. I had to empty the tall cabinet where we store sugar, flour etc and wipe down all the shelves, put out the motels (didnt help) and sprayed around the doors. they hung around forever.
But better to have ants than roaches, right?

I started to see a few in July trickling in by a baseboard. Since I have pets I don't like to use chemicals. Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) sprinkled in the crevices works wonders!

I had such a massive colony in my walls, venturing through my kitchen outlet (!) that the Terro baits were overwhelmed and I had to call in the pros. I really don't want that to happen again!

I have had some success with cornmeal too.

To me, ants are the least noxious household pest because they aren't gross when you squish em.
I usually spray the ones around the kitchen sink, with Windex! Cleans the granite AND gets rid of the ants at the same time!

I've taken to doing my own exterminator services here, including mosquitoes. The skeeters are a much bigger problem right now for us than the ants, although ants are EVERYWHERE outside. Haven't seen any inside as of yet <crosses fingers>.

What do you do for mosquitos? I'm not opposed to chemicals for outdoors if that is the only option.
