Doesn't he have any hobbies or sports he likes? Just what he's interested in? Why does it have to be a church group. At 20 he's a little old to be having people arrange his social network based on something like that.
I wish I could remember the name of the church my sister is going to now. I can try to ask her and get back to you. It's in the Raleigh/Cary area I'm pretty sure. There are lots of college aged "kids" and they have been super accepting of her despite some trouble she's been in in the past and have really helped her turn her life around. If that's they type of accept and not judge that you are talking about.

Of course he has hobbies & interest...
But my post was for church recommendations..
Has he expressed interest in wanting to find and attend church services or is this something you feel he needs? Seems odd that a 20 year old couldn't find a church if he wanted to. There's one on every street corner it seems like. Maybe it's not for him.

I am not saying this is for everyone but isn't it okay that it is something he is looking for ????
Let's stay open minded here...

Don't assume the bible-based church will be accepting - I know from personal experience with a relative who had a lot of issues and went to a pentacostal youth group...huge church/group...she was completely judged and shunned. I could go on and on about but this isn't the place.
Unitarian.
