Of course, the elevators are not to be used for fire evacuation routes.

This construction, wherever it's allowed, is an invitation to disaster.
I'm quite sure these buildings are sprinkled saturnfan. It would make a world of difference in fire safety.

If the sprinklers work and don't freeze up. Considering the quality of building trade work in NC, I'd rather be protected by fireproof materials.

Kitchen tools gadgets, pots and pans, etc.

I still remember W-S as the place I bought my expensive Dualit toaster and US made all metal Oster blender.

Why would they "freeze up"? The pipes are inside just like the regular water supply lines that are inside your residence.

Maybe we can have NY send some some construction workers down here to show us how to build it the right way .

Perhaps saturnfan wasn't referring to "freeze" in a temperature sense, but to the widely reported problems that affected millions of installed fire sprinkler heads.

That too also freezing of the water in a wet pipe system in unheated areas such as patios where many fires have started.

Pretty sure the outside areas protected by sprinklers are a dry system which is filled with air pressure rather than water. Once heat melts the fusible link the air pressure decreases which opens the water valve.
