Curious for input on what, if anything, the new Harris Teeter on Creedmoor/Millbrook will do to surrounding home prices/values. Does anyone have any experience with a grocery store or other commercial establishment being built near them and what it did to your home value or ability to sell? I see it as both a positive b/c there will be a convenient nice grocery store nearby, but also as a negative b/c of any increased traffic. Thanks for any input.

I predict the store will take advantage of the existing Creedmoor/Millbrook traffic, more than generate additional traffic.
And the Food Lion Shopping center is a real pain in the neck, with the parking lot filled up quite often. The existence of a bright new modern store might be a plus for values around it, unless it is a home that backs directly to the store.

Agreed. For those who live north of Millbrook between Creedmoor and Lead Mine, you've gained what is thought of as far superior grocery option than the Food Lion.

I've always used the location of grocers like HT, Fresh Market and Whole Foods as cheat sheet indicators of current and future home values. After all, these upscale stores do all their own demographic studies and place their stores where money is to be made.
