Be aware!
More than half of Raleigh's cabbies to go on strike NYE :: WRAL.com

I'm using credit card points for the round hotel downtown. I usually stay at Marriott but they really jacked their rates!

LOL Those cabbies think that Uber users are the ones being hurt by striking on their most profitable night of the year?

Ah wow. Can't blame them though as I bet they are going to be 100% booked that night regardless of rates. I'd do the same thing if I knew that the previous year I sold out of hotel rooms completely on a night. Supply/demand.

Oh, I don't blame them either, I was just bummed. They also blacked me out from using one of the many free nights I have accrued having a son that plays travel hockey. I am just glad I got a good deal somewhere! I agree cabs are shooting themselves in the foot by striking. We took one last year and it took foreverrrrr to get one. If there are only half as many, that will be rough!
