I'm guessing by now, everyone is on a 2 hour delay. Which, if history holds true, means we'll get nothing but cold rain. which is much better than ice.
this is probably a good time to tell our new residents - we do not usually receive winter weather like you did if you lived in a climate that routinely got > 1 ft of snow in a year, or more than 6 inches in one storm. Therefore, you will not see snow plows. They will out tonight spreading chemicals on the highways and some major roads, hoping it doesn't wash away instead of melting ice.

Hope so. I have a dr's appt in Raleigh tomorrow (already put off a month), and I have to drive in from Johnston Co.
So my husband thinks it will be fine to drive to work tomorrow at 7 am as usual for his 7.30 am conf call with London. How do we find out if the roads are safe?

How far is he driving and on what road (mainly)?
If there's ice out and he's not driving almost entirely on a highway? I'd work from home.
