Default Question for all the Real Estate Agents!!

My husband and I are moving down at the end of the month he is getting out of the navy. I am very interested in a career in real estate. How is the market in the area is it to slow to consider a career in real estate?? Also I wanted to get my foot in the door while I go to school are there companies down there that hire receptionists or assistants?? Any information will be GREATLY appreciated.

I am not a RE agent, but I work with about 100 of them as an inspector, and my mother owns a small RE company. As far as getting a job as an receptionist, that will be easy. In regards to working as an agent, prepare for 6-12 months with little to no income, and steep competition. I don't know how many agents the triangle has but it has to be in the low thousands. A lot of agents do it part time, or make an attempt out of it but find it is tough to make a good living until you are established.
