Is "neither" an option? I really don't see the Triangle influenced by either, at least not in my small part of it.

I don't really see how either of these relates to being a valid answer.

Well, I know for a fact that Raleigh was Washington Redskins country before the Panthers came to town. In fact, you still see a ton of Redskins fans in the area. Also, I've heard it was extremely cheap to fly out of RDU to Atlanta for the longest time, so many people visited Atlanta or used Atlanta to connect with another flight. That's what I mean by "influence." However, maybe any sort of influence is long gone by now.

I'm pretty sure every metro area in the country is influenced by DC in one way or another.

With the NC State (Cowher) connection for years, there are a lot of Steeler's fans in the Triangle. Steel Triangle Fan Club

..oh, put me in the column of neither city specifically. Though the Triangle shares a lot of traits with both cities, I don't see either as an influencer per se.

As cities, I don't see either of them having an influence on the Triangle. Obviously, the federal government in D.C. has a tremendous influence on us. And I guess when Hartsfield gets backed up, that has an effect on us as well.
