Thanks everyone.

I knew there were places to go in Mexico for less money. I am guessing that the best way to go for that is word of mouth...someone you know.

My current problem is something I need to address now but if I follow thru with everything that needs to be done, I may investigate the foreign options.

Word of mouth - a GREAT way to find a dentist.

Sorry, couldn't resist again. I do sincerely hope you find a reasonable and quality dentist.

Just throwing this out there. Are you ever near New Bern? I got a crown done in New Bern at Crown & Bridge exclusively. I paid less than $700 for a crown on a molar tooth. I'm happy with the results and wouldn't hesitate going back there. Crowns take two visits, so I'm not sure if it's worth the drive for you. But, if you need multiple crowns or are already visiting the area I'd recommend going there for the savings! Best of luck.

I assume you all are getting full ceramic crowns? No exterior metal that is visible?

wow, apparently my dentist is expensive! Are you guys talking before or after insurance?

Full porcelain crown on #11 up up front was $1,316 plus $296 for core buildup including pins for a total of $1612. My part after insurance was $815

Before insurance. My regular dentist (here in New Bern) wanted $1100 for a crown on a molar tooth. I chose to go to Crown and Bridge Exclusively. They charged $677 for my crown plus $30 for x rays. I did not need core build up. If I did, it would have been an additional $150 dollars. I highly recommend going to them if you need crowns or bridge work. You can't beat their prices! It is a drive to New Bern, but gas prices have gone down so I think it's worth it.
