Identifying someone as being Muslim is a bit different than labeling them such that they are only described in a one- dimensional manner. If we see and refer to the only as Muslim, we'll miss the many other parts of who they were.
Bad decision. Capital punishment is suitable for premeditation. Very doubtful that they can prove premeditation in this case.
It's sounds to me like he's grandstanding for the press.
You're confusing things. Premeditation is an element of first degree murder. The NC statutes list many aggravating circumstances which support a sentence of death.
