They are not necessarily "clubs" but Cary Tennis Center in Cary and Millbrook Exchange Park in N. Raleigh are pretty popular places for people.

Good luck.

Chapel Hill Connection is on a distinguished road
If you have access to Chapel Hill and Durham, check out the Chapel Hill Tennis Club and the Hollow Rock Raquet and Swim Club. I've heard great things about both.

The Raleigh Raquet Club has the most indoor courts in the city, I think.

When we first visited in May that was one of the first things we had on our list and now that we're living here we can offer you a bit of advice.

Raleigh Racquet Club is apparently going through some financial crisis so we took this club off our list. I talked to a gal who is a member and said she was recentyl charged a $1,200 assessment. There are nice courts but the clubhouse is old and it needs some work. They do have indoor courts which is nice. My husband recently played at a tournament at Duke U. so you might want to see what in-door options they have. The tennis players here are pretty sturdy so they are out playing in spite of the chilly days.

North Hills Swim/Racquet Club is very nice. If you have children this is the place for you.
We looked in membership - I think initially for us it would have been 10k just to join and then there are monthly fees but it has an awesome water park/pools and is very family friendly.

My husband is a 4.5 and he is very happy playing over at Millbrook Exchange Park which is part of the parks and rec system in Raleigh They have a challenge court so you can just show up; he now has a group of guys he plays with and it's FREE! So if you hang around long enough you'll eventually meet players and you'll save money in the long range

There are so many opportunites with USTA leagues that you'll be in tennis heaven. There is another swim/tennis club off of Creedmoor that is very nice...can anyone help me out with the name? .....Oaks??? I'm sure it will show up if you google Raleigh and tennis clubs

We found tennis to be much more popular here than in CA - the reason we think being is that they are taking alot of the private tennis clubs and closing them down and developing them..sadly. We found them to have a wonderful parks system here and you can play affordably.
Good luck.
