Good morning,

I’m looking for a licensed/insured contractor recommendation who would handle bathroom updates and a kitchen update. I’m NOT looking for extensive work, like moving walls, pipes, etc…just a refresh of existing stuff; late 90’s home so it has white tile, brass tone fixtures, etc..lol

This would be for a home in Raleigh, 27613 zip.

2 Bathrooms:
New Toilets
New Sinks
New Vanities
New tile –Walk In Shower
New Glass Shower Enclosure
New Tub
New Floor
Lighting

Kitchen:
New Countertops
New Sink
Backsplash
Flooring
Lighting

Would anyone recommend Home Depot/Lowe’s? I’m a bit leery to go there…I know they sub-contract out so it will be a shot in the dark who would be coming to the home..can be good and bad; not bad mouthing, just don’t know if it's worth the risk. I want the refresh to be done right and go by "You get what you pay for" I've budgeted up to $25k for the refresh on both baths and kitchen with a little wiggle room. I'm not looking for high end stuff, nor cheap stuff...more traditional selections that will age with the home nicely.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I do tile installation, but your too far, and to big a job for me. Don't use box store contractors!!! Are you talking about a curbless shower? That takes special skills and permits. Whatever you do, make sure your shower is waterproof BEFORE tile is installed, and make sure your floor is strong enough! NC contractors do not need to be licensed for jobs under $35k. This is a great resource. PM me if you like.

My day to recommend forums, but the John Bridge forum noted above is one of the best. You might be able to find a contractor there or get a recommendation for one.
We've used the Schluter/Ditra/Kerdi products in a couple of applications in our home and they're solid solutions.
I would not use a big box store to find a contractor.

Call John Devlin at Blue Ribbon Construction, 919-796-2239. Tell him that Felicia requested that you phone.
