While I find CH to be a charming town with a great choice of restaurants along Franklin Street, its pics like this one that remind me precisely why I don't care to live there:
Chapel Hill even has Tar Heel blue fire trucks.. My family from DE thought that was one of the funniest things they saw when they were visiting me in NC.

You know, I've often wondered about that. Obviously, I don't care for anything light blue (FYI there's not a color called 'Tar Heel' blue or 'Carolina Blue'. However, I always thought there were only 2 acceptable colors for fire trucks, red or bright yellow. Obviously there's no statute about this, or CH couldn't have painted the trucks this color, however it still doesn't seem right in the interest of public safety. I've lived in other college towns with a lot of pride in their school, but they certainly didn't go so far as to paint emergency vehicles in the team colors.

It's amazing how quickly you get used to seeing the pale blue fire trucks. I think now a red one would look strange to me.
Now if only there was a picture of the Dean Dome..........be still my heart.
