The wife and I are heading to Mryle Beach for our first family vacation. The kids are young and we're pretty nervous so looking for any help or advise, but mostly recommendations!

Best kids stuff

Best restaurants

Must see

Etc

You might want to post this in Myrtle Beach forum. Our kid was at least 3 when we went there but he enjoyed beach / pool the most. There is not much in terms of kids stuff otherwise. Children museum is very small. Aquarium is quite expensive and might not be of much interest at such age. No good parks to speak of.

Check Yelp for restaurants. Our kid loved IHOP. They also have Mellow Mushroom and many restaurants in Broadway at the Beach complex. Usually we rent a condo and do our own cooking. Can't say we were impressed with any of the restaurants. The seafood buffet was awful and overpriced.

Note that many attractions are seasonal and don't open till Memorial Day.

We went last year and stayed at a hotel that had an indoor pool (in case of rain) and an outdoor kiddie pool/spray area. The kiddie spray pool was great. It gives the little ones some independence since it is a series of sprinklers over a 1.5 foot deep pool. Friends enjoyed the aquarium and also just going to the beach and bringing sand toys.

Honestly, at their age the beach and swimming pool will seem like Magic Kingdom. In a desperate move, my wife and I once took a long weekend trip to Disney when my oldest was a little over a year old. His favorite attraction was a short staircase in MGM Studios where he practiced going up and down steps for nearly an hour.

And I second the Mellow Mushroom recommendation.
