If you can't find M&M's, jelly bellies might be an acceptable substitute. Fresh Market sells them by flavor....not sure if you could find a light blue and a white, but if you get desperate it's worth checking out. It won't be cheap.

Thanks all - I wasn't even thinking about "baby shower" m&ms.... good idea!

I already tried UNC student stores but they sell a package of about 1 cup of pre-mixed blue and white for $12, which is pretty pricey.

I would definitely give Southern Season a shot - if they sell Jelly Bellies in the right shade of blue, I'm sure they'll have M&Ms as well!

I think Fresh Market sells individual color M&Ms.

The ones at Fresh Market are not real M&Ms and they don't taste nearly as good. Southern Season has the real ones and they are pricey. It's one of things where if you want them, you just have to smile, pay the price, and enjoy.

Luckily my daughter's birthday is a few weeks before Valentine's Day. I have been known to get large bags of Valentine themed M&Ms and take out the red ones. Tada! Now I have pink, dark pink, and white for a little girl party.

Unfortunately there is no holiday known for its light blue M&Ms.

Actually, the Easter M&Ms have light blue in them. But they are only 1/4 the bag, and it's too late for them anyway.

For some reason I think CVS used to sell individual colored M&Ms near their party stuff. But I don't think the bags were very big. Don't know if they still do it either.

Good luck!

They have candy coated chocolate pieces in Michael's and I'm sure they would have those colors but they are not "real" M&Ms but you could easily get a 40% off coupon so the price may be worth it!

You guys are all so helpful - I love this board.

In case anyone is curious or looking themselves:

I found "sixlets" (not m&ms) in several shades of light blue (there are many color) as well as light blue jelly beans at Southern Season. They were $8.49 a lb there. I didn't go to Party City, but I think there were m&ms in baby shower blue there, but did not confirm. UNC sells pre-mixed blue&white m&ms for $12.95 for about a cup's worth.
