My two daughters, husband, dog and cat are moving from freezing CT to the Durham, NC area. We are going to rent for a year before deciding to purchase. My husband had been offered a job down in Durham. My girls are 7 & 8 and will be going to public school. We want to find a "safe" area for them and still cheap enough for rents. Does anyone have any ideas for apartments in the area - and any comments on the better school systems?
I'm thinking coming from the North, you may consider regular rents to be pretty cheap $. What range of rent are you looking for? Do you have special needs/desires for schools? What side of town will your husband work on?
Many places in Durham also have great houses for rent. Depending on what your price range is maybe I can suggest a few places that I know about.
