Hi. We are definitely moving out of the Fort Lauderdale area, (too many minuses) and are looking at Creedmore, but can't find a whole lot of information on it.

On the other end of the spectrum, we are also looking south of Greensboro, around the Asheboro area.

At this point, however, anything except the mountains and the Charlotte area are in the running, so I will take any and all info anyone would be kind enough to provide.

Thanks in advance.

You'd probably find more if you're use the proper spelling of CREEDMOOR

You can get to Creedmoor easily from raleigh by just taking Creedmoor road straight up. Another area you may like is the Wake Forest area. I loved visiting Fort Lauderdale but not sure I would like to live there. If I can help you with anything in this area feel free to contact me. I myself relocated many years ago from the opposite end. I wouldn't change anything about that.

Regards,

Debbie

Creedmoor is wee tiny. There is a little bit around the I-85 exit and a small downtown. The I-85 exit has a few things, mostly fast food and hotels serving the interstate. There might be a grocery store on the other side of the interstate. The downtown is maybe 1,500 feet, with hardly anything in it. Definitely no grocery store. I-85 will take you into northeast Durham.

Oxford, just north, is the county seat.

There is a high school (South Granville) and an elementary school (Creedmoor Elementary) in Creedmoor. They are small and I don't know the academics.

There is a nice new neighborhood on the south end of town. The church across the street plays bingo.

In other words, if you're looking for a quiet place to live, you found a good one. If you're looking for an easy 7AM commute into Raleigh/RTP, there is no such thing, even from Creedmoor.

Highway 50 (Creedmoor Road) runs south into northwest Raleigh. It is a two lane road until I-540. I-540 feeds right into the center RTP. Pretty drive, though. Goes right across Falls Lake. As you get closer into Raleigh, you pick up some expensive neighborhoods lining the road. Congestion on the two lane road is bad towards Raleigh at peak times.
