Anyone have any idea what is planned (if anything) for the empty lots of land at the intersection of Cary Parkway and Waldo Rood.

The land is in front of the fresh market complex and looks like it would be great location for commercial but somehow its empty, am curious if anything is planned for that?

There is a pond right there if you look closely.

Wow I never realized that!

I can see it now on google earth. So do you know if that means even the adjacent land (to the west of the pond) is also going to remain as is ?

Can small ponds like that can be filled in and developed over? Is that possible?

I thought they were required for runoff.

Seen it happen at other places but not quite sure if this one "qualifies" for similar treatment.

The ABC store will be by the back entrance off of Towne Village. Where the Christmas tree lot goes.

Hopefully they'll leave it alone. I think that most developers and the Town of Cary won't be happy until there's some sort of ugly plaza or crappy development on every last acre of land in Cary, so they may well fill in a pond and slap some townhouses on there to try to cram a few more kids into the Davis Drive schools, or something equally horrid.

That land would be zoned for Weatherstone not Davis Drive!
