We need to finish off the yard... we're told maybe 4-5 pallets. Not sure what kind of grass it is though.

Any recommendations? We can lay it ourselves if needs be, but if the price is right, we'd consider having someone lay it for us!

TIA!!!

This place sells sod by the pallet. You cna pick it up on your own I beleive or have it delivered. Don't know about prices, but I would start there. Good Luck!

Right, and they have a price list right there for you, as well as sample patches of grass that might help you determine what you have.
A pallet does 450 SF of Zoysia and 504 SF of other grasses.

I third also. We used supersod also. They delivered it for us. The only thing is we underestimated and ordered one pallet so we ended up ordering one additional. It was really easy to put down. The pieces were just heavy. Good luck.

please post followups on the status of your lawns - my new home builder installed sod against my wishes - I wanted to wait. I am curious how things play out over the weeks and with what species of grass. Thanks, pray for rain.

Funny you should mention that boondog. Our sod is starting to curl at the edges and is obviously not rooted at all.... I'm afraid we're going to lose it all.
Is it too cold to water on our specified days? Odd # house in Cary, establishing new lawn... anyone have that info off the top of their head? We've got to get some water on this grass, like, yesterday.
I'm still not sure which species we have and we haven't ordered our additional sod yet.

Suggestions from anyone?

ETA: Cary City = no automated watering at all, hand watering every day if wanted... still not enough to establish a new lawn, I'm afraid. I hope our builder has an action plan in place for replacing yards that were laid during the water ban, knowing they couldn't be watered.

beckycat, I think it depends on the species... and the retailer/wholesaler.

We got a quote (a couple of weeks ago) from the landscaping company that does our community, and they said $300/pallet. Eek. I hope we can find it cheaper somewhere.
