Not that I'm aware of, I thought that was the only one. Maybe someone else knows?

Default Don't scare yourself

I agree with Mrs. Steel. There is a risk wherever you live. You have to take necessary precautions. Lock your car door. When my partner and I bought our home, she knew my next phone call was to get an alarm system installed. I know nothing is fail proof but as two women in a home, you take precautions. With that being said, we live in North Durham and feel very safe. I would look around SW Durham. I had a female friend who lived in Woodcroft for five years and never locked her front door. To each their own. For areas in North Durham, we settled on a home off of Stadium Drive. We also looked at homes in Eno Trace. Don't be shy about asking potential neighbors in the community about the area and safety. I think my buyers agent ended up treating us like his daughters and only pointed us to communities he would let his daughter live in. Get a good buyers agent and let them show you around.

If I were to shop for homes all over again, I would have looked off of Lavendar Drive as well. Good luck!

triangle.com | Know

This site has a crime mapper for Raleigh and for Cary. The default search entry is Raleigh but the drop-down menu lets you select Cary. You can change the dates of the search. Not sure how far back the information goes but as a test I checked for incidents from Jan 1998 and it had data. It is probably best to search month-by-month so as not to overload the map.

I think it is super that Durham, Raleigh and Cary put this data in the public domain.

Default Thank you for the Reality Check

We live in an apartment in Cary. I used the triangl.com|Know site and I found that we have had assaults, burglaries, and thefts from vehicles in our community in the last two years. I had no idea. I am probably just used to living like a city woman who locks her car and home, doesn't walk in dark areas as night alone, and doesn't leave valuables in plain sight. MAkes me feel much better about living in S or SW Durham now.
