Chargrill - a great burger!!
I just discovered Chargrill in Raleigh and what good food.
I went to the one on Six Forks and what a tasty burger.
It's a real experience..you fill out your own order form...put it down a little chute..and your order is ready in no time and really inexpensive. I like better than Five Guys Burgers...try it you'll like it..
Welcome To Char-Grill (broken link)

DITTO!! Chargrill is the GREAT!! We haven't been to the one on Six Forks but have been to the one in Cary by Fresh Market. LOVE their burgers!! The folks at the Cary one are so friendly too!!! They show old tv shows like Leave it to Beaver & Happy Days on a flat screen tv. But the tv has a cutout mounted to it so the tv looks like one of the old stand alone box tvs from the 50s. My kids dig that!

DITTO Squared! To think that its better than "
Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. "
...and that use to be hard to beat! IMO Chargrill does!!

Char grill is the BEST! Cook out is really good too, though! I just like to support Char grill because of it's local roots and because of the "atmosphere", for lack of a better word. I have fond memories of just meeting and talking to random people (doctors, college students, high school students, lawyers...whoever) at midnight on a Saturday night, sharing an outdoor table, eating my burger.

The original Char Grill is located downtown. I can remember eating there when hubby was at NCSU! For many years, it was the ONLY one and we went downtown just to get their burgers. Daughter loves the red carolina hot dogs! Their milk shakes are pretty good too! The newer one on Strickland Road is almost within walking distance of my home!

Chargrill is good but better than Five Guys is tough. Chargrill's fries are so average compared to Five Guys. Either way they're both a heart attack waiting to happen. I almost expect to see a wall mounted defibrillator waiting to spring into action when I go in to eat there.

It might be a heart attack waiting to happen for people who don't exercise or aren't smart enough to eat a balanced diet and eat fast food frequently... For the rest of us it's just a nice place to eat every once and a while...
Never been to Five Guys but Backyard Burger is pretty good.

Char-Grill is LOCALLY owned and has been around since the late 50's. I try to never eat at franchise places. They are anywhere USA. I am from and live in Raleigh. I can eat at Five Guys in too many cities to name. When I visit other places, I seek out their local establishments, not some chain that can be found everywhere. Why do so many americans love these chains?

We like the CharGrill here in Cary, next door to the Fresh Market, at the corner of Waldo Rood (I think) and Cary Parkway. The burgers are delicious, and it is reminiscent of a 1950's diner.
