Craving fresh fish - can anyone suggest some good seafood markets where I can go buy some today? I know the Sea Depot near downtown Cary and the Grand Asia Market near Crossroads - but wanted to see if there are others I can check out.

Thanks,

D

If you want to venture out of Cary,I've always had good experiences with Salt Water Seafood on Capital Blvd heading towards downtown. Don't go to Earps on South Saunders. They may have the history behind them but my recent trips there were a huge let down in terms of quality and customer service. Don't quote me on this but it seems like one of those family operations where the child took over and instead of improving they are resting on their former reputation.

Locals seafood. They are at the State Farmers market and they are at some local farmer's markets.

You can special order with them (assuming they still have that policy). They will get what you want in their next order brought up from the coast.

EDIT - Clicked link and - duh - they still have the policy and you can do it online. They are just around the corner, so I had never looked online.

No it is not..... Call them up and ask them. In fact Earps has a big sign on their door just in case anyone is mistaken. Same family originally, completely separate businesses and neither seems too fond of the other. Not sure what happened there but in terms of quality and service that's important to the customer,Saltwater is in the lead. Earps is a little cheaper on some items but they can't fillet it correctly so the discount is a wash. Do you patronize either business you supposedly think you know more about?
