I'm looking for a jeweler in Raleigh -reasonable, trustworthy, even a hobbyist- to fabricate a minuscule jump ring and re-connect the chain to my necklace. I've been taken by two jewelers in the past (removing/replacing stones) and this last guy I went to stated immediately he'd have to take the stones out to do the job -which sent me bolting out the door. Any recommendations would be great.
I can strongly recommend Traditional Jewelers in Lake Boone Shopping Center. THey have been there forever, are very honest, do great repairs (fixed my mothers ring for me, etc.) and also have some very nice pieces for sale, as well as hand make pieces. I can't say enough about them. I was there today dropping off my 2 DD's charm bracelets to put on the charms their GD gave them for Christmas.
Although this place is in chapel hill, it is note if people are in that area, is baum's. They are locally owned and have been in business for many many years. They are incredibly talented, honest, etc. If you are in that area, they are definitely worth looking at. They make their own, repairs, etc
I just moved to Cary and went to Stonehaven Jewelers on High House rd. I don't know if you want to drive but I gave them my engagement ring to have the stone tightened along with my bands. They look great and it is the same stone. I also had some other items fixed and they look better then new. They have a lab on site so they can actually make anything you can dream of. I liked them a lot.
