I've been to Europe over and over, but never to the UK.

Have a great time, poppydog.

We were the at the end of May and it was cool for sure. We went up a small mountain where it snowed and sleeted, but it was in the upper 40s to 50s otherwise.

Poppydog, if you're interested I can give you the name of a private car tour we took in the UK as well. He has some general stuff planned that you can select from and decide where you want to go, including Stonehenge.

Hey y'all, I'm still looking at flights. Considering driving to DC for a non-stop. United, BA, and Virgin are all about the same price. Any thoughts on a preferred airline?

The only one of those I have experience with flying internationally is BA. Flew in one of their 747-400s from JFK to LHR and back (as well as from LHR to PRG). Stellar service, even in coach, good food, and a pretty good selection of movies in the AVOD system.

You might want to ask on the Northern Virginia board. I bet you'll get some replies over there. They're nice people.

I wouldn't do United. I'd go with BA if I were you, with Virgin as a 2nd choice.

Probably Virgin. But in all honesty, in coach they're all pretty much the same IMHO. Go for cheapest of the 3.

Virgin has the nicest staff/service; BA are often miserable. Coach seats are comparable, with BA seeming a little wider? Premium Economy in Virgin is fantastic.

United, BA, and Virgin are all the same price right now. United now has a premium economy, too, but we'll probably be cheap and stick to coach.
