My husband and I moved to Durham a few weeks ago and we are looking for stores that have moderately priced furniture. We live in an apartment and have a small budget on furniture. Ikea would be a good choice for ppl like us, but the nearest one is four hours away. Could anyone give us some advice please? Thanks a lot!
Try Haverty's on Glenwood Avenue (Rt. 70) just east of I-540. It's not Ikea cheap but it's not too far removed from them price-wise. Also, if you're over in that area take a look at Big Lots; while it's not for me they do have furniture that might fit your budget.
Thanks, LeighBHE. The Home Comfort outlet clearance center, some of the prices are negotiable, too, so don't forget that it doesn't hurt to ask what the best price is! I've felt that the pieces there were more substantial than the ones at Rooms to Go.
Haverty's is more expensive, although the quality is perhaps better.
Thanks! I appreciate it~ I'll check them out this weekend.
