I've seen them out there, but sometimes they charge a bit more for the six month lease. That always bugged me, however. But, I've seen them.
I can check with my agent if you like. I was actually going to purchase an additional home out there to use as a rental, but I'm new from L.A. and did not know the rental market very well, so I waited (wish I had now).
Anyway, I think renting is a good idea. I bought almost immediately, but now that I know the lay of the land, I may have purchased elsewhere that had faster appreciation (though this house and land is great!).
Nonetheless, it's probably a good idea, as well, to start searching for homes to buy just so that you can get accustomed to the market. I know there is a lot to handle, but it'll be worth it.
